Home MenuWilson Ave and 43rd St Multi-Use Path Project
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The City of Loveland is moving forward with improvements to the multi-use path system in northwest Loveland. The project will widen the existing concrete sidewalks to 10 feet along the south side of 43rd Street from Glen Isle Drive to Wilson Avenue, as well as along both the east and west sides of Wilson Avenue south to 29th Street.
These upgrades will create a more direct and convenient connection for users of the Recreational Trail Loop, reducing reliance on the current winding route through the Emerald Glen neighborhood. The new alignment will also enhance safety by providing three controlled intersection crossings on Wilson Avenue and discouraging mid-block crossings.
The Open Lands and Trails Division has secured a Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) Grant to fund the initial phase of the project. With CRP Grant funding and matching City of Loveland contributions, all five phases will be designed, and construction will begin on Phase 1. The City’s matching funds will come from the Trails CEF and Conservation Trust Fund. Phase 1 will include improvements along 43rd Street and a portion of the planned path upgrades on Wilson Avenue.
