Closures & Advisories
-
Due to a waterline break, the restrooms and concession stand in the Barnes/Fairgrounds 7–10 complex are without water. Restrooms in this area are closed, but we do have portable restrooms available. Flushing restrooms in the Barnes/Fairgrounds 1–4 complex and near the batting cages remain open. Concessions in 7–10 will be limited to pre‑packaged items this weekend, with full service available in 1–4. We are coordinating repairs and will share an update once we have a reopening timeline.
-
The Fairgrounds Park 5-12 playground will be closed for removal of the pour-in-place safety surface. This surface will be replaced with loose fill similar to the other sections of the playground. The closure will start on Monday, April 20 (weather permitting) and the playground should be reopened to the public prior to the end of the day, Friday, April 24.
- On Friday, April 17, a new alignment of the North Trail segment of the Loveland Recreation Trail will open. The trail segment was realigned due to development of a new residential area. Approximately 50 feet of the new trail section will consist of compacted road base until construction of the adjacent new street is completed. Signage will be in place advising trail users to slow down, watch for uneven surfaces or trail damage, and use extra caution when traveling through this section. Construction activity will continue on both sides of the trail as development progresses. See COTREX for updates.
-
Beginning March 26, the two restrooms nearest Championship Field at Loveland Sports Parks (LSP) will be closed due to repairs.
-
Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park is open for the 2026 season. Park hours are sunrise to sunset daily. Closures and advisories due to weather or other conditions are posted on COTREX.
- The playground bridge at Mehaffey Park has been removed due to safety concerns. A new rigid bridge will be installed. There is no timeframe yet for the installation date.
