AMERICAN RED CROSS Lifeguard training classes | Ages 15+ 
American Red Cross class includes Lifeguarding CPR (PR) and First Aid.
You must attend every class and pass all skills and written tests to receive Red Cross Certification. A pretest is required to participate in any lifeguard training class. Refunds will be given if pretest cannot be passed.

Candidates must:
- Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
- Jump into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breast stroke or a combination of both; maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 min by treading water using only your legs; swim 50 yards using the front crawl or breaststroke or combination of both. Swim goggles may be used.
- Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Surface dive, feet-first or headfirst, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. Swim goggles are not allowed.
Specialty Training/Certifications 
Lifeguard Recertification
The American Red Cross Recertification Course is intended for lifeguards whose certification will expire soon. Participants who successfully complete the recertification course will receive Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED certification valid for two years. Please be ready to provide your current/expired certifications and any extension documentation prior to beginning the class.
Lifeguard Instructor Certification
This course provides training for becoming a certified Lifeguard
Instructor and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Instructor. You
must have prior experience as an American Red Cross Lifeguard
(or equivalent program) with current up to date certifications and
have a good working knowledge of the Lifeguard Program. Learn
how to teach to teach American Red Cross guidelines to present
information using the Instructors Manual, Instructors Corner,
Lifeguard DVDs and videos, and additional resources. Successful
completion of intro online course prior to this course required.
