The following standards apply to commercial and industrial areas outside the Downtown Sign District (scroll down for information about Downtown Sign District standards). Please note that no more than two temporary signs of any type are allowed on a property.

Downtown Sign District Standards

The heart of Loveland has a unique feel and unique standards for signage. Please review the standards below for use of signs in the downtown sign district. Please contact us if you need help!

The district is mostly bordered by Garfield and Washington avenues, First Street, and an alley south of Eighth Street and north of Seventh Street. A residential portion of the
southeast corner of this area is not part of the district. To see the full map, visit lovgov.org/UnifiedCode (Section 18.04.08.05).

The following sign types are not allowed in the Downtown Sign District:

  • Feather flags

  • Large inflatables or "wind dancers"

  • Pennant strings or valances

  • Site signs

  • Swing post signs

  • Yard signs

  • Lighting on portable sidewalk signs or construction fence signs
