This applies to re-roofs on commercial or residential and new roofs on new builds.

Requirements for shingled roofs with a maximum roof pitch of 6/12 and no more than two stories:

1. Mid-roof photos of the roof deck (this will serve as the mid-roof inspection) 
2. A roofing affidavit and all pictures in one PDF, submitted by email   
3. All three inspections must be called in (Final Roof, Roofing Affidavit, and Permit Completion)
4. All permit paperwork on-site (except roofing affidavit and pictures)
5. An OSHA-approved ladder set with the ladder extending at least two rungs past the plane of the roof and attached to the house for stability for the inspector to get up on the roof (no telescoping ladders). If the inspector feels like the ladder is not stable or attached, the inspection will be disapproved.

Requirements for roofs with a pitch of over 6/12* or more than two stories and multiple roof pitches:

1. Mid-roof photos of the roof deck and pictures as required on the roofing affidavit
2. A roofing affidavit and all pictures in one PDF, submitted by email  
3. All three inspections must be called in (Final Roof, Roofing Affidavit, and Permit Completion)

*The inspector will not climb onto the roof for inspection of some of these roofs. Instead, they will inspect the final roof from the ground.  

Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, vapor barrier affidavits for installations under any interior/heated concrete slabs is required.

The exhaust side of the PVC vent piping system for water heaters, furnaces, and any other gas-fired appliance that uses a vent to exhaust gases to be air tested with 5 psi for a minimum of 15 minutes will be required for all exhaust venting, including new and cellular core replacement.

A water-resistive barrier inspection is added to all additions, new residences, and commercial buildings.

House wrap will require one inspection after the windows and/or doors are installed. The installation instructions for the product being used must be on-site at the time of inspection.

The zip wall system will require two inspections:

1. Nailing of the sheathing (shear inspection)
2. Taping of the seams

In addition to all one- and two-dwelling submittals, a submittal of the whole-house gas line drawings for review will be required.  A licensed plumber or a plumbing engineer can perform these tasks.
