Home MenuAccessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
Certified by the state as an Accessory Dwelling Unit Supportive Jurisdiction since February 2026, Loveland is recognized across Colorado for making it easier to add a second residence to your property. The City of Loveland has made it simper to add an ADU to your property by:
- Waiving capital expansion fees for ADUs
- Not requiring off-street parking for ADUs
- Forming an advisory committee
- Allowing ADUs on any property with a single-family home
In 2026, the City hopes to present more potential code changes to the City Council for consideration, including a provision that would allow homeowners to serve as their own general contractor for an ADU and expanding the types of residential properties that can have an ADU to duplex and townhome lots.
