City of Loveland Art in Public Places Program seeks Larimer County artists to create unique murals on designated electrical cabinets as part of the Heart Improvement Plan along 4th Street in downtown Loveland. Selected artists will be compensated for their artwork, which will become a part of the City’s public art collection.
The installation of three large electrical cabinets downtown has begun, and will increase utility capacity for residents, businesses, and special event planning. The intent of the program is to transform these everyday utility cabinets into unexpected moments of creativity and discovery, enhancing the streetscape and creating a strong sense of place within the community.
“Art in Public Places is excited to bring the Transformations Project back to Loveland,” said Suzanne Janssen, the city’s Public Art Manager. “Our theme this year, A Vibrant Downtown, celebrates the history, people, and public spaces that make Loveland special.”
Larimer County artists are encouraged to submit design concepts that capture the energy and creativity of downtown Loveland. Depictions of special events, galleries, annual holiday celebrations, and local businesses are encouraged.
