Residents learned a lot during the City’s Loveland 101 series. One message came through loud and clear at the Loveland Police Department (LPD): Bring back the Citizens’ Academy. 

We listened. This October, the Citizens’ Academy returns!

Join us each Tuesday in October from 6 to 9 p.m. for an inside look at the many areas of the LPD, including Criminal Investigations, SWAT, K9, Communications, Patrol, Forensics, and so much more.

Each session will offer education, insight, and hands-on experiences designed to give you a closer look at the people behind the badge and the work they do every day to serve our community.

This won’t simply involve sitting through presentations. Participants will have opportunities to engage with LPD personnel, ask questions, explore police operations, and experience aspects of the job firsthand. You’ll learn how calls get handled, how investigations develop, how specialized teams prepare for critical incidents, and how many different roles come together to keep Loveland safe.

Attend at least three sessions to earn a Citizens’ Academy certificate.
