August is National Water Quality Month, a perfect time to appreciate something we often take for granted: easy access to clean, great-tasting drinking water. The City is proud to deliver high-quality water to our customers, and that commitment includes caring for the places our water comes from. 

This summer, the Water Division completed installation of a new oxygenation system at Green Ridge Glade Reservoir. The system is an important part of an ongoing, multiyear effort to improve water quality and strengthen Loveland's water supply. By adding oxygen to deeper areas of the reservoir, the system can help reduce nutrient availability, limit taste-and-odor causing algae and decrease the potential for discolored water. These improvements can also reduce treatment needs and costs while increasing the amount of reservoir water available for use. 

As we recognize Water Quality Month, we thank the teams who work every day to protect our water resources and the community that values clean water. The journey to quality drinking water starts long before it reaches your tap, and we're working every day to keep it that way.
