City of Loveland National Community Survey invites begin landing in mailboxes this week

Online and in-person survey available to all July 6-27

Post Date:06/02/2026 12:25 p.m.

The City of Loveland has released its biennial National Community Survey to get much-needed feedback from residents on their perception of the quality of life in our community. Survey responses are confidential and help the City prioritize what matters most to our community.

The City wants to hear from all residents and encourages the community to complete the survey before it closes on July 27. The survey will be distributed in three ways to be widely accessible:

  1. By mail – Starting June 2, 4,000 randomly selected households in the City of Loveland will receive instructions on how to take the survey. Residents chosen for the random sample are encouraged to complete the survey through a QR code on the postcard or fill out and return a mailed survey packet with the pre-paid envelope.
  2. Online – Starting July 6, the survey will be available online at lovgov.org/CommunitySurvey. Participants will need to provide their email address and zip code before submitting their responses. This ensures that each person only takes the survey once and confirms whether the survey-taker lives in the city. Respondent information remains confidential.
  3. In person – Print copies of the survey will also become available July 6-27 and can be picked up from and returned to the following locations: City Clerk's Office and the Utility Billing Office at the Civic Center Municipal Building, 300 E. 3rd St., the Loveland Public Library, 300 N. Adams Ave., and the Chilson Recreation Center, 700 E. Fourth St.

The mailed survey and the open participation survey are identical, and versions are available in English and Spanish. Survey data will be compiled and shared with the public this fall.

The City of Loveland uses The National Community Survey™ (The NCS™) through the National Research Center/Polco as its community survey option. Using The NCS allows the City of Loveland to compare local data to nationwide data.

Since 2006, the City has conducted an annual Quality of Life Survey. Since 2014, both mailed and online surveys have been available. As part of its 2020 Strategic Plan and 2021 performance management efforts, the City has shifted to a biennial, statistically valid National Community Survey. Previous survey results can be found at lovgov.org/CommunitySurvey.

Survey questions can be directed to the City's Communication and Engagement Department at OCE@CityofLoveland.org or 970-962-2302.
