Loveland Homelessness Update – What You Need to Know April 22, 2026

Post Date:04/24/2026 8:44 a.m.

The City of Loveland hosted four Community Conversation events on homelessness in October and November 2025. These sessions were designed to facilitate high‑level dialogue about homelessness in Loveland, gather diverse perspectives, identify shared values, and explore the broader landscape of homeless services in the community.

Based on community interest, events were held on Wednesdays, Oct. 1, Oct. 15, and Nov. 5, as well as Saturday, Nov. 15.

To support meaningful engagement, discussions were moderated using the Harwood model, which emphasizes productive, inclusive dialogue and ensures all participants have an opportunity to contribute and be heard.

Themes related to challenges and concerns, included the need for:

  • Transparent communication
  • Clear, consistent public data
  • Strong partnerships with service providers
  • Regular updates on actions and outcomes
  • A clear policy framework to guide City decisions
  • An advisory group with diverse community representation

A summary from our Community Conversation events is available at: https://go.lovgov.org/Library-Community-Convos. Although we cannot implement every aspiration as summarized, input contributes to a better, more balanced outcome.

Next steps

Based on feedback gathered, Loveland City Council adopted Ordinance 6823 on Tuesday, March 24, establishing a temporary Homelessness Ad Hoc Committee. The committee will bring together local nonprofits and faith‑based partners to consider sustainable solutions that reduce homelessness, evaluate service capacity and models, and help identify where City support can further community efforts.
