Registration Opens for Loveland 101 Series

Post Date:04/16/2026 4:44 p.m.

Registration is open for the City of Loveland’s Loveland 101, a new five-part series designed to help residents ages 18 and older deepen their understanding of local government by connecting directly to City leaders and staff.

Registration is available online at or by calling 970-962-3268.

The first event of the series, held on Thursday, April 30, 5:30–8 p.m., is Municipal Challenges & Objectives. In this session, Mayor Patrick McFall will welcome participants, followed by a candid presentation from City Manager Jim Thompson, Deputy City Manager/CFO Brian Waldes, and Deputy City Manager Rod Wensing on the City of Loveland’s current challenges and future priorities. Insights from the 2024 and 2026 National Community Surveys will be shared, and participants will participate in a small group community visioning activity.

The second event, The Importance of Placemaking, is on Thursday, May 7, 6–8 p.m. The Importance of Placemaking session explores the spaces and places that shape Loveland’s quality of life—from recreation and parks to culture, open lands, library services, and economic development. Attendees will enjoy a guided tour of the Loveland Museum and learn about community amenities, programs, funding, and economic impact.

The third event, Beneath the Surface, is on Thursday, May 14, 6–8 p.m. Participants will learn about community development practices and how major capital projects are planned, funded, and maintained, with insights from various departments. The session includes a facility tour.

The fourth event, A City on the Move, is on Thursday, May 21, 6–8 p.m. In this session, participants learn more about Loveland’s current and future transportation systems. Learn how transportation planning supports economic growth, environmental sustainability, and equitable access.

The fifth and final session is Answering the Call on Thursday, May 28, 6–8:30 p.m. In this session, participants will learn more about City of Loveland’s public safety objectives from the Loveland Police Department, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, and more. This is the culminating event of the 2026 Loveland 101 series.

Loveland 101 was created in response to high community interest in learning more about how the City operates. Over the past year, City staff have researched options to add this series, and during that time collected information from residents interested in attending.

Light refreshments will be provided at each event.

Space is limited to 25 participants, with preference given to City of Loveland residents and business owners and to those who can attend three or more sessions. A confirmation email will be sent to registered participants. Registration for the series closes at noon, Friday, April 24.
