Loveland’s Fourth of July festival and fireworks are back for 2026

Post Date:04/07/2026 2:04 p.m.

City of Loveland’s July 4th Festival has returned for 2026! This year’s Independence Day celebration will be held Saturday, July 4, at North Lake Park, 2750 N. Taft Ave., featuring the return of family fun, food trucks, vendors, and fireworks. For the July 4th festivities, the City of Loveland anticipates more than 10,000 spectators to gather in the North Lake Park area.

Family fun, food trucks, vendors, and entertainment in North Lake Park include:

  • Lions Club Barbeque, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Food trucks and vendors, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Buckhorn Train, operated by the Lions Club, noon to 8 p.m.
  • Kids’ Zone activities with music, face painting, games, and more, 4 p.m. to dusk
  • Loveland Concert Band at the Norma & Lynn Hammond Amphitheater, 8 p.m. to dusk
  • Fireworks will be launched from the north side of Lake Loveland around 9:17 p.m., weather and darkness permitting

North Lake Park is open to the public from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. In addition to North Lake Park, there are two nearby park locations to watch the fireworks display:

  • Dwayne Webster Veterans Memorial Park, 401 W. 13th St.
  • Benson Sculpture Garden, 1125 W. 29th St.

Traveling to the park

For the purpose of event parking and traffic control, 29th Street will be closed to drive-through traffic between Taft Avenue and Beech Drive. There will be dedicated diagonal accessible parking between Taft Avenue and Aspen Drive. Additional diagonal parking will be available on 29th Street between Aspen and Beech Drive. Recreational vehicles will not be permitted along this area. There will be a paid parking option at Loveland High School, 920 W 29th Street.

Due to the popularity of City-provided fireworks, attendees are encouraged to carpool, rideshare, walk, and bike to the event or nearby parks.

Unattended bicycle racks are located at Loveland High School's main entrance on the west side of the building. Bicyclists are encouraged to lock their bikes. An interactive bike map is available on the City’s website for those accessing the park through the City of Loveland recreation trail system.

Community support

Leading up to the event, there are a few details that are helpful to know.

New this year, a donation webpage has been created to help offset the cost of event funding. The July 4 Festival Fund has been created as a way to supplement the cost of fireworks, family-friendly activities, and event logistics for the annual North Lake Park celebration.

Volunteers are important to the event’s success. Be part of Loveland's largest event by volunteering at the event. Volunteer registration opens in June. Help with set-up, family-friendly activities, park cleanup, and more.

General public safety information

Firework safety is important and the City of Loveland’s display is conducted by trained professionals. We encourage residents to have a safe holiday and watch the public display, leaving fireworks to the professionals, to avoid the risk of injury or property damage.

As with any event, the City of Loveland monitors weather conditions in the interest of public safety. This includes extreme wind, thunderstorms, and fire danger. Stay in the know with community alerts. Beginning June 24, text LVEVENTS to 888777 and get July 4th Festival event and traffic updates. If you previously subscribed, you’ll need to resubscribe to receive 2026 updates.

The basketball courts and playground on the south side of North Lake Park —which are adjacent to the fireworks staging and launch area—will be closed July 2 through midday July 5. To maintain safety, there will be temporary fencing to identify the fireworks staging and launch area.

Starting Friday, July 3, Loveland Police will increase periodic patrols of the event space to ensure park rules are followed.

The main park entrance, accessed along Taft Avenue, will be closed to the public. This closure helps maintain access to event staff and emergency vehicles.

Alcohol and personal fireworks are not allowed.

About the 2025 cancellation

Due to the City’s need to prioritize essential services during the 2024–2025 budget cycle, several community events were paused in 2025, including the July 4th Fireworks Show and the Foote Lagoon Summer Concert Series. With clearer insight into long-term budget needs and improved stability, the City is now able to restore these signature celebrations in 2026, with the fireworks aligning with both Colorado’s 150th anniversary and the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Future programs and events are always subject to budget approval.
