Loveland Art in Public Places has announced that on Saturday, March 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., there will be a reception and poetry reading for The Art Advocacy Project at the Loveland Public Library. The Art Advocacy Project is a one-year on-loan program designed to promote regional artists through the public display of their artworks as well as provide a means for artwork sales. The selected artwork is showcased in the Loveland Public Library’s Central Galleria and will be on display through February 2027.
Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of this partnership with the Loveland Public Library, Art in Public Places will display eight selected artworks by the following artists: Jim Cencer, William Char, Bryan Hacklemen, Linda Johnson, Raymundo Munoz, David Theissen, Tatyana Grechina, and Cindy Hale.
In 2021, the Poet Laureate Program joined this collaboration to create an interactive poetry element for the annual display. Works by eight poets were selected by Jackie K. White from a blind jury, which accompany the artworks on display. Loveland Poet Laureate Beth Lechleitner, is pleased to announce the 2026 featured poets are Susan Walton, Val Szarek, Tim Van Schmidt, Belle Schmidt, Gia Nold, George Kalamaras, Amy Irish, and Heather Gardner-Muir.
“Combining visual art and poetry creates a wonderfully dynamic public display,” said Suzanne Janssen, the City of Loveland’s Public Art Manager. “There is greater depth of meaning and emotion when images and words come together in the exhibit.”
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this event.
