City of Loveland Utilities conducts fire hydrant flushing beginning in April. The process typically lasts about five weeks. This annual maintenance helps protect water quality, maintain infrastructure integrity, and ensure that fire hydrants work properly. Flushing is scheduled to begin, weather permitting, the week of April 13. Crews will start on the west side of the city and move east until compete.
Did you know Loveland has nearly 3,500 hydrants to flush each year? Crews flush about 700 a week. Once work begins, you can track near-live progress with our online interactive map.
Please note: Discolored water is common during flushing.
