Volunteer Open House on Feb. 5 with Loveland Open Lands & Trails

Post Date:02/02/2026 12:00 p.m.

Volunteer Open House on Feb. 5 offers ways to get involved with Open Lands & Trails

The City of Loveland is hosting an Open Lands & Trails Volunteer Open House at Chilson Senior Center on Thursday, February 5th from 5-7PM. The drop-in style event will offer information about ways to get involved and help support the city’s natural areas and trails.

Loveland offers meaningful volunteer opportunities for citizens to help care for local natural areas and share their love of nature with people of all ages. Volunteers are vital to the success of the division, contributing 10,195 hours in 2025, through education, outreach, stewardship and restoration efforts.

Volunteers can assist with environmental education, host visitors to the Nature Cabin and local trails, engage with the public at outreach events, monitor raptor nest activity, and assist with a variety of habitat enhancement projects. This no-obligation event provides a chance to learn about all types of nature-based opportunities, with current volunteers and city staff on hand to provide information and answer questions.

Training starts soon for many volunteer roles and sessions are listed on Offero, with more dates being added regularly. No experience necessary and all training and materials are provided free.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a friend or family member to the open house, to explore new interests and ways to help Open Lands & Trails. Registration is not required, but sign up in Offero to receive an event reminder and a monthly message with news and information about upcoming programs and volunteer opportunities.

Hosted by the City of Loveland Open Lands & Trails Program: www.lovgov.org/openlands. The division manages and maintains 20 open land sites for public access, along with 33 miles of paved trails and 30 miles of soft-surface trails throughout the community. See www.offero.cityofloveland.org for programs.
