The City of Loveland invites the public and business owners to an informational meeting, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Loveland Police Institute, 810 E. 10th St., to learn more about proposed regulatory considerations related to marijuana, alcohol beverages and tobacco.
This hybrid event will offer both in-person and online attendance options, providing residents an opportunity to learn about proposed regulatory considerations, ask questions, and offer input that will be shared with City Council for adoption.
Related to marijuana, City of Loveland staff are working on the regulatory framework around voter approval of local retail and medical marijuana sales. Issue 2H asked voters to allow a limited number of retail and medical marijuana businesses to operate in Loveland, and issue 2F imposed a 5% excise tax on those sales.
Specific to alcohol beverages and tobacco, the City of Loveland is updating regulations to better align with changes in state law and to address compliance.
In addition to the option to attend the meeting in-person at the Loveland Police Institute, online attendees can register for the live Zoom online. Registrants for the online event will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the Zoom webinar.
