Loveland Police Investigate Assault At Local Restaurant

Post Date:08/14/2024 8:32 a.m.

On August 4, 2024, at 1:00 a.m., Loveland Police Officers were dispatched to the In-N-Out Restaurant located at 1450 Fall River Drive in Loveland.  Officers contacted a 15-year-old male.  The juvenile told officers he and two friends were inside the restaurant engaging in horseplay by splashing water on one another.  During this interaction an adult female was accidently splashed with water.  The juvenile male approached her table to apologize when an adult male accompanying the woman suddenly grabbed him, placed both hands around the front and back of his neck, pulled him down to the table and threw him backward onto the floor. The adult male and female departed the restaurant prior to officers’ arrival.

Officers spent the following week interviewing witnesses and reviewing several videos which depicted different views of the incident.  Witnesses came forward and were able to identity the male suspect.  Officers were able to confirm the suspect’s identity through the gathering of more information and local records.

On August 9, 2024, officers presented the case to the Larimer County District Attorney’s Office.  Based on this meeting, on August 13, 2024, a no bond arrest warrant was issued for Lucas N. Kalisher, a 55-year-old Loveland resident. Kalisher was charged with the following offenses:

  • C.R.S. 18-3-203(1)(i) Assault in the Second Degree-Strangulation, a class 5 Felony.
  • C.R.S. 18-6-401(7)(a)(V) Child Abuse, a class 1 Misdemeanor.

On August 13, 2024, at 10:33 p.m., Kalisher turned himself into the Larimer County Jail.

“The Loveland Police Department is very appreciative of the assistance we received from the community during this investigation.  This is a perfect illustration of our new Vision Statement: ONE Community, ONE Police Department, ONE Team,” said Chief Tim Doran.  Kalisher’s booking photograph is available through the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or have any other information, is asked to call the Loveland Police Department Tip Line at 970-962-2032 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868.

The charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
