In his presentation, local historian Ken Jessen uncovers how these towns began and the forces that ultimately caused their demise. Join us for this eye‑opening journey into Colorado’s hidden past and discover the stories waiting beneath the surface. After the presentation, Ken will be available to sign copies of his books, which will also be available for purchase by cash or check.

Kenneth Jessen is a longtime Colorado historian who has written more than 2,300 illustrated articles and 24 books on topics including ghost towns, railroads, and regional history. He has taught for twelve years in Colorado State University’s OSHER program and lectures widely throughout Northern Colorado. Jessen is active in numerous historical organizations and currently serves on the Loveland Museum Acquisitions Board and the Poudre Landmarks Foundation Board. A former Hewlett-Packard engineer, he has also traveled extensively, including four global circumnavigations. He and his wife, Sonje, reside in Loveland and have three sons and seven grandchildren.
