This free training is available for any adult interested in presenting educational programs to young school children about Colorado wildlife. During Critter Scene Investigation field trip programs, students move from station to station collecting clues for their investigation, with volunteers helping them narrow down the wildlife suspects.
Each volunteer staffs one animal suspect table, hosting small groups of 5 to 8 children at a time, in grades K-1, as they rotate through the stations. Our free training includes experiencing all of the animal stations and covers the logistics of set-up, station rotations, and tear-down. This training for 2025-26 school year CSI programs will cover The Case of the Feather Fluff Puff.
For more information and curriculum details, see our Volunteer Opportunities and Environmental Education web page. This training opportunity starts with a 30-minute preview, then stay for training if it appeals to you, no obligation to commit to teaching at this time.
Sign up on Offero. Other education program trainings will be offered on September 2 (Canyon Ecosystems - Grades 4-5) and September 4 (Plants & Places - Grades 2-3). See times, locations, and details on Offero.
