This month we will be discussing  Horse by Geraldine Brooks.

A sweeping tale of art, history, and racial injustice centered on Lexington, the greatest racehorse in American history. Spanning Kentucky in 1850, New York City in 1954, and Washington, DC, in 2019, the novel follows interconnected lives: an enslaved groom, an artist turned Union soldier, a determined gallery owner, and modern-day researchers uncovering a horse's story and the Black horsemen behind his success. Blending true events with fiction, this powerful narrative explores themes of spirit, obsession, and America's ongoing reckoning with racism.
