ReadMore is the library’s longest-running book discussion group. Readers choose their titles annually, both fiction and non-fiction, and meet the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m.
This month we will be discussing The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams.
In this heartwarming debut, an unlikely friendship blooms between Mukesh, a widowed grandfather, and Aleisha, an anxious teenager working at a local library. Mukesh, grieving the loss of his wife and worried about his reclusive granddaughter, finds a spark of hope when Aleisha discovers a crumpled list of books in To Kill a Mockingbird. Intrigued by the titles, Aleisha begins reading them one by one, using the stories to escape her own struggles. When Mukesh visits the library, seeking to connect with his granddaughter Priya, Aleisha shares the list with him, and the two find solace and joy in the books they read together.
